Nursing Home commenced in 1945 in response to a lack of facilities
for aged
residential care. In early 1982, UnitingCare Wesley Adelaide was
granted Commonwealth approval to establish 56 licensed Hostel
beds at Aldersgate.
There are 56 permanent residents in the Low Care Facility and
59 in the High Care Facility.

Aldersgate Aged Care Complex (Low Care)
Aldersgate Low Care units provides services to people
over 60 years of age who have approval for Low Care eligibility.
It offers individual living with support provided as
necessary. Aldersgate works to maintain and improve the
quality of life for people requiring Low Care accommodation,
who due to a physical or cognitive impairment are unable
to maintain their own lifestyles. There are 56 rooms
divided into four 14 bed homes. Secure dementia care
is available. |

Aldersgate Aged Care Complex (High Care)
Aldersgate High Care homes provide services to people who have High Care nursing
needs. The High Care homes consist of two sixteen bed houses and three nine
bed cottages which are a secure dementia care area totalling 59 beds. These
homes have the atmosphere of stately guest homes. Aldersgate works to maintain
and improve the quality of life for people requiring High Care nursing, who
due to a physical or cognitive impairment are unable to maintain their own
lifestyles.
