Reconnect – Youth
Homelessness Early Intervention Program

Reconnect is a Commonwealth funded Youth Homelessness
Early Intervention Program.
Reconnect aims to work with young people aged between 12 and 18 years who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and wish to improve their level of engagement with family, work, education, training and the community.
Reconnect is a mobile service and has the capacity to see young people and their families in their home, at school, coffee shops, in the office etc.
This program provides a service to both young people and their families who are experiencing family conflict, which may lead to, or has led to a young person leaving home.
Service Provision
The service provided includes:

Assistance with accommodation, training, education and income
support

Information and referral to other services

Providing advice to Centrelink regarding the family situations
of young people applying for income support
Reconnect also collaborates with other agencies and schools
in promoting early intervention strategies through community
development projects.

Region Criteria
This service is currently available
to young people and their families who live in
the local council areas of Salisbury.

Referrals
Clients are referred by Centrelink, the police, schools, youth agencies and many other agencies.
Young people and families are also able to self refer.
Referrals can be made directly to Reconnect workers in Salisbury.
