Respite to GoRespite to go

About the service
Respite to Go is a mobile respite service which provides assistance to carers living in rural and remote areas where no other suitable respite service is available. The service operates within the North and West Country Region of South Australia.
 
The majority of the respite is provided through Activity Groups. These are currently located in Streaky Bay, Wudinna, Smoky Bay, Arno Bay, Tumby Bay, Port Neill, Port Lincoln and Port Augusta.

In addition to activity based respite, other respite options are available:

  • support in the carers home
  • support at a community based activity
  • support out of home for 1 - 2 nights. 

Types of respite available
Respite to Go is able to provide regular and ongoing respite for carers.

Service delivery
Respite services are provided by trained UnitingCare Wesley Adelaide staff.

Who can access this service?
Carers of frail, older people and carers of people with dementia and/or challenging behaviours (65 years and over, or Aboriginal Carers 50 years and over) are the primary focus of this assistance.  Some assistance is also available for carers of younger people with disabilities.
