After more than decade of living in supported accommodation and prior to that on the streets, well funded services were made available to provide Lucy with the opportunity for a life in independent accommodation.
She began this new phase of her life with mixed messages of hope, and messages tainted by stigma. She was told she would fail and be back in the supported accommodation within a week, others saw more than her mental illness and gave her hope and offered her encouragement. This is her story
