Monitoring the National Framework
for Protecting Australia’s Children
Welcome to the Child Protection Storyboard
UnitingCare services working with children and families have established the Child Protection Storyboard project to monitor specific commitments made under the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009-2020 (NFPAC).
UnitingCare Australia welcomes the COAG endorsement of Australia’s first National Child Protection Framework and hopes to see a successful implementation of its commitments. This project will tell the story of how those commitments are being implemented via a regular National E-newsletter.
The storyboard process is being applied to projects intended to generate action by highlighting missing tasks and opportunities for change. UnitingCare Australia hopes the Storyboard project will help all stakeholders to understand the sometimes complex tale of how key commitments are implemented. It will also assist with making sense of complex government programs and policies and telling straightforward stories that are easy to understand and easy to track over time.
Child Protection Storyboard was initiated by and is facilitated by UnitingCare Wesley Adelaide under the auspices of the UnitingCare Australia Children, Young People and Families Network. Child Protection Storyboard is self funded by UnitingCare organisations across Australia and will be working collaboratively with, and seeking wide support from, key interest groups and stakeholders working in the interest of children’s safety and wellbeing.
Storyboard Newsletters
The first edition of the Storyboard newsletter was published at the end of April, to coincide with the first anniversary of the signing of the NFPAC.
