UnitingCare Wesley Adelaide has served people who are disadvantaged and/or homeless people in the inner-city area of Adelaide since the Central Methodist Mission was established at Maughan Church in 1901. When the Mission's premises were rebuilt in 1965, facilities for a drop-in centre were incorporated in the Nazareth Crypt. The services of the Nazareth Crypt were transferred to Wright Court in 1976. In June 1994, the service moved to new premises in Byron Place.
Volunteers
The Centre needs volunteers to assist with the general running of the facilities, and people with specialist skills ie tradespeople, computer operators, art and craft skills.
Clothing, particularly men's clothes, jocks, socks and shoes, is always needed. The Centre also requires towels, cups and blankets.
