A personal account of what it was like for the author of this story when her mother came out to her at the age of 9 years old. It covers some of the

This is an excellent resource titled “Understanding My Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual Parent” from PFLAG
(Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) in Canada. It isn’t too relevant for younger children, but provides much
useful information for teenagers and adults whose parents have come out to them. It could also be useful for
LGBT parents to help gain a better understanding of what their children may be experiencing.
