Public Apology
Chief Executive of UnitingCare Wesley Adelaide, Mr Simon Schrapel, and the Moderator of the Uniting Church in South Australia, Rev Rob Williams, have made a joint public statement to say that:
“If mothers involved in the Kate Cocks Memorial Babies Home were coerced or forced to give their children up for adoption we unreservedly apologise to those affected. Furthermore, if children involved in the Kate Cocks Memorial Babies Home were forcibly removed from their parents we unreservedly apologise to those affected.”

Adelaide Lifeline Volunteer Honoured
ADELAIDE Lifeline volunteer Lynda O’Reilly has been named Lifeline Volunteer of the Year.
The 65-year-old was honoured for 30 years of service to the national crisis support organisation on December 5, which marked International Volunteers Day.
Lifeline Adelaide’s Team Manager Graeme Ruwoldt said Lynda has been volunteering with Lifeline for 30 years.
“Her dedication and commitment to the organisation is humbling to say the least,” he said.
Lifeline’s 11,000-strong volunteer workforce make an enormous contribution to the community, clocking more than one million volunteer hours every year.
Lifeline currently is seeking more people to join the volunteer family.
